The Green Raybans

dress, raybans, fashion blog, interview, blog

snow, sweater, fur, coat, winter, fashion blog, blog

Two best friends Eli & Nicole,  also known as 'The green raybans' started their blog in 2011. Just wanting to express their opinions about the fashion industry. Now their blog has grown through out the years, with readers all over. Just knowing that they living from across the world from each other, and still maintain a blog together is amazing. This is basically my first interview,  so I hope you all like it, enjoy!

What made you two have the idea of starting a blog together?
We have been good friends since we met and it seemed like such a great idea to start a fashion blog! At the time of starting our blog, we both had developed a keen interest for writing and fashion so this blog seemed like a good platform where we could share our common interest for the industry and do what we love.

Fashion icon?
Nicole: Anna Wintour, Grace Coddington, Miranda Kerr and Rumi Neeley.

Eli: I would say that Audrey Hepburn is definitely my fashion icon, but I do adore plenty of other peoples fashion!

Favorite blog?
There are heaps of blogs that I love reading, but our favourites would probably be FashionToast, HowTwoLive, and The Blonde Salad, BryanBoy, and Aurora Mohn.

What do you love about blogging?
Nicole: There are so many things that I love about blogging, yet so many things I dislike about the industry as well. My favourite thing about blogging is being able to write about something I genuinely love and its so great to be able to share it and read all the different opinions from fellow bloggers as well. It's also great making friends with bloggers in the blogging community.

Eli: I love getting all the lovely comments, the fact someone actually notices really makes my day.

Whats your opinion of your own sense of style?
Nicole: My style constantly changes but it has always remained very colourful, and full of prints.

Eli: In my opinion I have quite a simple, preppy and very girly sense of style.

What is the typical blog post on your blog?
Nicole: I love using polyvore as a medium for my posts so many of my posts usually include a polyvore set. But usually just runway and lifestyle coverage and things that inspire me.

Eli: I often blog about lifestyle and do outfit posts.

Favorite designer brand?
Nicole: I currently have a major love for Alexander Wang and Kenzo.

Eli: I don't really have one particular favourite but some are Ralph Lauren, Elie Saab, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.

What is your dream job?
Nicole: As cliched as this sounds for any fashion blogger, my dream job would definitely to be a fashion journalist working in New York City! But that's definitely a dream job since it's a very tough industry to get yourself into.

Eli: My dream job would be to work in either the fashion industry or finance.

What did you think about the interview?

BKK Round 1

So as you can all see the title of the post is 'BKK' yes I am in BKK right now but by the time you're all reading this I'll be back in Singapore. I have been incredibly busy seeing friends and family, so I didn't have time to blog at all. However, now I have some free time before I go to bed. If you didn't know I am thai and I recently moved from Bangkok to Singapore, some of you might think that it's not a big deal, but it was a HUGE deal to me, probably the worst news of 2013 at the time, but now I've changed and its different. I am starting to like singapore, with all the new friends I've made, and how easy it is to get around (It's impossible to get anywhere in Bangkok because the traffic is the worse and it's not as safe as Singapore ).  I will be in Bangkok again this month, because I am coming back again for new year yay.
Dinner at Greyhound (if you look closely, half of my face is on the left side)

I have had such a great time here in Bangkok, I have always loved this city, and it's character. Also, on how it is so loud and busy all the time, I've learned to love it. I got the chance to visit my old school, friends and family.

Camwhoring sesh (me in the middle)
Seeing my family was so nice, the last time I saw them was probably since the summer which was quite a while away. It was a great day overall catching up with everyone, and especially seeing my grandparents. So before I went to see them I was preparing for all the questions on how singapore is or if I like singapore better than Bangkok. Well obviously both cities are different in their own ways. A long day of eating and talking. It was the most chillest (is that a word?.. I don't know :3) day ever. However I was extremely excited to see all my friends, some of them I haven't seen since the summer, like one of my best friends who went to boarding school, so it was so nice to catch up with everyone. I also got to give the christmas presents to all my friends in Bangkok, after three days of intense christmas shopping. That day was also such a fun day, got to see all my friends, had delicious dinner, and had a sleepover with one of my best friends who I haven't seen in 5 months, and of course whats a sleepover without watching a chick flick. However, since my friend just came back she was extremely tired and fell asleep at 8... but then I fell asleep too. Now for my last full day in Bangkok, it was also the chillest (sorry I had to) day. Had Japanese food (favourite food of all time) and watched frozen, which was the cutest movie ever, the songs were such happy songs, the movie was just uplifting, and just made you feel happy (Well done disney).

Just to remind all of you it's christmas soon!!! I am so excited literally my favourite time of the year. So I now have an excuse to have my Nutella hot chocolate (best thing ever), If you all of you want to see the recipe on how to make it tell me, and I'll be sure to write a post about it. Well, thats all for now, Thank you for reading!

How are your winter holidays?

The "LA look" via instagram & youtube

I know right now its december and its the winter season, but it's summer weather all year here, so read this post as if it's summer soon for all of you and you could take ideas off this, but if it's summer all year for you too then great!

I have been noticing a lot lately about the "LA look" the skater skirts, with doc martens and muscle tanks. I honestly love the look. It can be casual, formal and especially made for a more hotter climate. Which is good for me cause I live in a country thats 40 degrees Celsius everyday. However, Most of the looks I've seen is from Instagram and youtube. I am obsessed with youtube I probably subscribe to over 200 people. My favourites are the beauty guru's like Macbarbie07(Bethany Mota) (I met her :3) or stilababe09 (Meredith Foster). They give me lots of ideas for makeup, fashion and products that I might essentially like, and of course they live in California. The youtuber that has a strong "LA look" is Alexa Losey (smokeypinkleopard). She probably lives in boots, because all of her lookbook videos are basically her in boots all the time, I love it! heres examples of her videos.

Now on to Instgram. You all probably know this person, Kylie Jenner. She is the ultimate LA girl her style is spot on, on what I think the "LA look". Also, it could be because she was brought up in LA her whole life and as we all know she caught up to the style. Her Instagram photos are so nice, some of them don't even look like she took it from her iphone because the photos are so clear and HD. I have been noticing that she uses Flannel shirts as an accessory, that she ties around her waist, which I think is a great idea and also what every other LA girl wears :3 Here are some photos from her Instagram that shows her 'style'

kylie jenner, LA style, indie, hipster, high end, friend, jenner, kardasian
As you can see with these pictures her style is absolutely gorgeous! elegant in some photos and casual in the others. Well those are the perks of being a Kardasian (well jenner but you know same thing)  and having Kim, Kourtney and Khloe as your sisters. Also, shorts are essential where I live, wearing long trousers in singapore will probably make you melt because its so terribly hot.

To end on a light note, have a nice holiday everyone!

What do you think about the "LA style"?
