The 56th Annual Grammy Awards

It is my duty as a blogger to write about the Grammys, the biggest night of the music industry. I am always amazed by how different the fashion is every year, and a different star pulls off something even more incredible, or not so incredible. From Suits to beautiful gowns.

What is a grammy blog post without taylor swift or Beyonce. Of course Beyonce is queen B but I think that taylor swift stole that from her this year with her stunning dress Gucci premiere dress, and pairing it with Lorraine Schwartz Jewels. Gold and bronze colours in my opinion are the best colours for these red carpet events. It really helps you stand out from all the other spectacular dresses. Taylor also fit the dress perfectly, and her hair perfectly complimented the rest of the outfit. Don't get me wrong, I still think Beyonce's dresses is absolutely stunning! She comes in every year looking like she was born with it. She is wearing Michael Costello and pairing with Jennifer fisher jewels. I've heard that people are saying that beyonce's dress is more on the risky side. That is absolute nonsense, her dress fit perfectly on her, and people are complaining to get a story out of it. Also, If you haven't seen Beyonce's performance at the grammy's you're missing out.

I said before that a bronze coloured dress would really make a star shine even more. Well, Ariana grande proved me wrong, Her dolce Gabbana Dress is so different from what anyone would wear to the Grammys, and I'm proud that she kept true to her own style.  Nobody would have ever thought of wearing a floral dress like Ariana to the Grammy's. In my opinion, I think Ariana is the only one who can pull it off. It fits, her music, personality and her TV personality.

Before ending this blog post, P!INK comes out with another amazing performance. and her incredible talent does not let her down. She is one of the most talented people in hollywood, and she deserves everything. I couldn't imagine anyone else doing that and how she hang from the ceiling was incredible. Of course I will have to mention her beautiful dress from Johanna Johnson. However, I think she could've gotten a dress that fitted her body more.

Sorry for such late 'proper' blog post. I will try to update the blog as much as possible, and I will talk to you all in my next blog post!

My new youtube channel ♡

Hi everyone! I am so so sorry for not posting a blog post in so long, well now I'm back! I've been really busy with school work but now I'm back. As you can see above I have recently started a youtube channel. It took me a while to think of making one because I was scared if my friends would find out, but thats the process and I shouldn't let that stop me. I have always wanted to start making videos on youtube. I still remember the old days where me and my friend start a childish youtube with us paper puppets (I was a weird child). I hope all of you could go watch the video and subscribe to me if possible, and like the video if you want to! I would really appreciate that.

I will be posting regular posts, about my latest youtube videos, so look forward to that. Please if you can spread the word and I will be sure to post a video once every week!

What did you think of the video? any feedback?

The Green Raybans

dress, raybans, fashion blog, interview, blog

snow, sweater, fur, coat, winter, fashion blog, blog

Two best friends Eli & Nicole,  also known as 'The green raybans' started their blog in 2011. Just wanting to express their opinions about the fashion industry. Now their blog has grown through out the years, with readers all over. Just knowing that they living from across the world from each other, and still maintain a blog together is amazing. This is basically my first interview,  so I hope you all like it, enjoy!

What made you two have the idea of starting a blog together?
We have been good friends since we met and it seemed like such a great idea to start a fashion blog! At the time of starting our blog, we both had developed a keen interest for writing and fashion so this blog seemed like a good platform where we could share our common interest for the industry and do what we love.

Fashion icon?
Nicole: Anna Wintour, Grace Coddington, Miranda Kerr and Rumi Neeley.

Eli: I would say that Audrey Hepburn is definitely my fashion icon, but I do adore plenty of other peoples fashion!

Favorite blog?
There are heaps of blogs that I love reading, but our favourites would probably be FashionToast, HowTwoLive, and The Blonde Salad, BryanBoy, and Aurora Mohn.

What do you love about blogging?
Nicole: There are so many things that I love about blogging, yet so many things I dislike about the industry as well. My favourite thing about blogging is being able to write about something I genuinely love and its so great to be able to share it and read all the different opinions from fellow bloggers as well. It's also great making friends with bloggers in the blogging community.

Eli: I love getting all the lovely comments, the fact someone actually notices really makes my day.

Whats your opinion of your own sense of style?
Nicole: My style constantly changes but it has always remained very colourful, and full of prints.

Eli: In my opinion I have quite a simple, preppy and very girly sense of style.

What is the typical blog post on your blog?
Nicole: I love using polyvore as a medium for my posts so many of my posts usually include a polyvore set. But usually just runway and lifestyle coverage and things that inspire me.

Eli: I often blog about lifestyle and do outfit posts.

Favorite designer brand?
Nicole: I currently have a major love for Alexander Wang and Kenzo.

Eli: I don't really have one particular favourite but some are Ralph Lauren, Elie Saab, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.

What is your dream job?
Nicole: As cliched as this sounds for any fashion blogger, my dream job would definitely to be a fashion journalist working in New York City! But that's definitely a dream job since it's a very tough industry to get yourself into.

Eli: My dream job would be to work in either the fashion industry or finance.

What did you think about the interview?

Tory Burch Spring 2014 Ready-to-Wear Collection

Tory burch's Spring 2014 Ready-to-Wear Collection really caught my eye, the hint of green, and light coloured outfits through out the runway. It is classic and simple, which makes more people want to buy the clothing. My favourite outfit is the middle outfit. I adore the trousers, the green checkered pattern with and white lining on the side. The best part of the outfit is the purse, the flower pattern really emphasises the "nature" point of the outfit. On the other hand, the outfit on the right, has a hint of contrast to the middle outfit, the middle outift has a hint of white and different colours that probably represents 'nature', but the right outfit, has only one colour and one colour only, white. In my opinion, white is a very elegant colour, it gives the feeling softness and quiteness. Which is basically the definition of elegance (I think).

I remember when I was 13 and my mum started to buy from tory burch and I always ask her if I can have it but she would always say no, which is what you're supposed to say when your 13 year old daughter asks you if she can have a designer hand bag. Now back to the topic of the runway. I would definitely wear all of the outfits from tory burch, it is one of my favourite designer brands, maybe because it's not the most expensive and that I'm only a teenager.

I absolutely love every single outfit in this photo, the outfits all can fit a different category. The left outfit can be worn to a gala, or a day time event, or even shopping, however it is more on the posh side than casual. Also my favourite dress out of the whole collection. The outfit in the middle is more on the casual side in my opinion, it can be worn any day. The outfit on the right seems to be very formal, can be worn to meetings, work, or even a formal dinner, definitely another favourite outfit in the collection. Also, of course I'm not going to miss out on the shoes, I have seen a pattern that most of the shoes are either white or a bronze colour, which is a great pair to match the outfit. e.g. the middle outfit is all white and is not the brightest outfit, so a pop of silver shoes to match with really makes a statement.

So I did say that I was going to try to post a blog post everyday, but I am so busy christmas shopping, that by the time I come home I am extremely tired, I will try to post as often each week. however, by the time all of you are reading this I will probably be in Bangkok, visiting family and friends (I'm thai if you didn't know that) so keep visiting my blog for a travelogues, and ootd's with my friends in Bangkok.

What is your favourite outfit of the collection?

The "LA look" via instagram & youtube

I know right now its december and its the winter season, but it's summer weather all year here, so read this post as if it's summer soon for all of you and you could take ideas off this, but if it's summer all year for you too then great!

I have been noticing a lot lately about the "LA look" the skater skirts, with doc martens and muscle tanks. I honestly love the look. It can be casual, formal and especially made for a more hotter climate. Which is good for me cause I live in a country thats 40 degrees Celsius everyday. However, Most of the looks I've seen is from Instagram and youtube. I am obsessed with youtube I probably subscribe to over 200 people. My favourites are the beauty guru's like Macbarbie07(Bethany Mota) (I met her :3) or stilababe09 (Meredith Foster). They give me lots of ideas for makeup, fashion and products that I might essentially like, and of course they live in California. The youtuber that has a strong "LA look" is Alexa Losey (smokeypinkleopard). She probably lives in boots, because all of her lookbook videos are basically her in boots all the time, I love it! heres examples of her videos.

Now on to Instgram. You all probably know this person, Kylie Jenner. She is the ultimate LA girl her style is spot on, on what I think the "LA look". Also, it could be because she was brought up in LA her whole life and as we all know she caught up to the style. Her Instagram photos are so nice, some of them don't even look like she took it from her iphone because the photos are so clear and HD. I have been noticing that she uses Flannel shirts as an accessory, that she ties around her waist, which I think is a great idea and also what every other LA girl wears :3 Here are some photos from her Instagram that shows her 'style'

kylie jenner, LA style, indie, hipster, high end, friend, jenner, kardasian
As you can see with these pictures her style is absolutely gorgeous! elegant in some photos and casual in the others. Well those are the perks of being a Kardasian (well jenner but you know same thing)  and having Kim, Kourtney and Khloe as your sisters. Also, shorts are essential where I live, wearing long trousers in singapore will probably make you melt because its so terribly hot.

To end on a light note, have a nice holiday everyone!

What do you think about the "LA style"?

December Wish list

December Wish list aka Christmas wish list

  • Dresses - I am someone who wouldn't really buy dresses while I'm shopping, because I always think "when am I ever going to wear this" even though they dress looks so nice. So now I decided that I should start buying dresses, because why not you never know when theres gonna be a time when you have nothing to wear to a fancy dinner. Also, whats not to like about dresses.
  • Phone case - Not any phone case, I've really been wanting the leopard print Kate spade silicon phone case (sorry for the obsession over Kate spade).
  • hand bags - I've been really wanting a new hand bag, because I tend to have smaller hand bags, so a bigger one would be a nice change, and of course a Kate spade bag would be quite nice :3
  • Beanies - Even though I live in a country where it's summer everyday, I do tend to visit countries that have a colder climate. I probably only have one or two beanies because I never use them here #problemswithlivinginahotcountry, but they are so nice I can't resist!
  • A watch - People these days tend to look at their phones to check the time (I do this too). but I still love watches, I was never really a big fan of watches but some of them look so nice, and basically its an overly priced accessory that you can tell the time with. I have been loving Michael kors watches they are absolutely beautiful.
  • Beauty related products - It would be nice to have a few new make up products added to my collection, e.g. the naked 3 palette I am dying to get, but I don't think it will be out in singapore yet, but I hope it will soon.
  • Shoes - I used to hate shoe shopping, I don't know why I think its just that I was too caught up on buying just clothes. However, I am slowly transitioning into a shoe shopper, as you can see on my wish list just a few pairs of shoes I've been wanting.
  • Candles - I have been obsessed with candles lately, I always have a candle burning in my room everyday, especially during this time of the year where I burn my candles a lot more to create the 'christmas smell'. Since theres no bath and body works here in singapore, I have been loving yankee candle. Their 'christmas eve' scent smells just like christmas, it smells amazing! So it would be nice to get a few extra candles so when I run out I'll have more candles to burn! :D
What is on your wish list? and what do you all want me to write next?

Kate Spade Spring 2014 collection

ImageI absolutely love Kate spade's Spring 2014 Ready-to-wear collection, its elegant but fun at the same time. The thing about Kate spade's designs is that they are always so colourful and who doesn't like clothes that are colourful. As a teenage girl, looking at Christian Dior or Alexander Wang doesn't really make me go WOW I want all of that. Kate spade's collection makes me go WOW I want those clothes. In my opinion, They remind me of dresses from the 60's, the big glasses and colourful dresses. The dresses are definitely in my wish list (dream on emma).
Image

I feel like these outfits are the more sophisticated looks of Kate Spade's Spring 2014 collection. My favourite is the first look and the third look, those outfits are to die for. However, I live in a tropical country which means that its about 40 degrees Celsius all year round, which makes life harder every girl/women who want to dress up including me. If I did live in a country that had four seasons I would love to wear these outfits. I really like how the third outfit has a pop of pink, because the rest of the outfit is just black and white. Well done to Kate spade to note out that it is spring the collection can't be black and white. Other than that, I recently started using my Kate spade wallet I got in New york during the summer, and I am in love with it! Image

Thank you for reading!
